Summary

The Paint Line Lead is a valuable part of our process of creating high-quality commercial roofing accessory products in the Burgaw Plant. The Paint Line Lead works with other operators, and the supervisor to establish and maintain an environment where safety, quality, service and cost are the highest priorities.

  • PayRate:$23-$24.66perhour

  • RegularWorkSchedule:

  • First Shift: 5:00 am to 3:30 pm (Monday through Thursday)

  • Overtime as required

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Trained on and certified to operate mobile equipment including stand-up and sit-down forklifts, “walkie-riders, etc. Must have a clean mobile equipment safety record.

  • Operates a wide variety of simple one step or one-process machines to manufacture ventilation or specialty products.

  • Ensures that the work area has been set up to provide optimum safe work area and workflow.

  • Develops and manages a First In, First Out inventory system for paint and WIP.

  • Monitors quality of materials supplied and parts produced & recommends corrections as necessary.

  • Keeps track of production on daily schedule control sheets and other production reports. Tracks and reports downtime of equipment, production and scrap.

  • Responsible for keeping supervisor informed of production problems, which could be material, machine or personnel related. Responsible for conformance of production with plant standards of safety, quality, production and efficiency.

  • Ability to fill in for the supervisor as needed and make sound decisions based on available information.

  • Inspects equipment for operating efficiency. Cleans, performs basic maintenance, and makes minor repairs or specified operating adjustments to equipment.

  • Cleans and maintains work areas in accordance with plant standards.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with leadership and those in that line of work. Ability to assist with training and other supervisory duties

  • Ability to learn to effectively and efficiently operate all equipment and perform all jobs in the Paint Line area. Able to fill in for back up line

  • Serve as an acting supervisor when requested by the Supervisor. Duties include but not limited to, morning meetings, shift huddles, printing production tickets, daily scrap and production reports, etc.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicateinformationwith/tootheremployees;frequentlystandandwalk;use both hands to handle objects, tools and controls; frequently bend and reach into baskets on floor; occasionally stoop; and reach with both arms and hands.

  • The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.

  • Ability to pass Respirator Fit Test upon job offer.

Under This Roof, We Require

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Demonstratedandspecificleadershipexperiencerequired

  • Must be comfortable communicating across diverse teams

  • 3+ months prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required

  • Mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance background preferred

  • Demonstrated computer skills required
