Essential Duties

  • Wears specified personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times: hard hat, ear plugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, and protective gloves. Required to be actively involved in following and promoting safe work practices. Reports all accidents, incidents, near misses, and injuries immediately to a supervisor.

  • Propose and participate in implementation of changes to improve product quality, process capability and operational performance in key measures including safety, rates, scrap, etc.

  • Must be able to successfully complete required forklift training and testing and obtain a GAF-Dallas license for any power equipment operated.

  • Transfers finished goods produced from the production line to a designated storage location, weighs the last pallet of each color change, and fills out the Pallet Movement Ticket.

  • Inspects product packaging coming off the line for holes, tears, open ends, and bundle overhang, etc. to ensure product meets visual standards. Ensures presence of accurate and legible product code dates. Ensures product is stacked to quality standards. Reports product that does not meet set standards.

  • Assists with threading and lace up of the machine.

  • Consolidates material in locations, and fills out pallet movement sheets for Logistics Planner.

  • Keeps palletizer pallet dispenser filled to maintain production.

  • Backup Palletizer Operator to apply slip-sheets to bottom pallets.

  • Assists Scrap Hauler with remakes and destroying product in scrap pit and loading into dumpsters during upset conditions or as directed by supervisor.

  • Responsible for housekeeping in all assigned work areas as designated by the supervisor.

  • Performs preventive maintenance checks on the lift truck at the beginning of each shift and documents it on the Lift Truck Check Sheet.

  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by the shipping or production supervisor.

Physical Demands

  • Refuels lift truck/ clamp truck when required.

  • High School diploma or GED.
