Summary

GAF is seeking a Solution Architect to provide governance, guidance, architecture, and design for SAP Plan to Make capability. Included in this capability is the entire integration across the supply chain as it pertains to all facets of merchandise planning. The Plan to Make Architect will plan, design, and support the ongoing implementation of SAP and provide sustainable IT and business system solutions to support current and future operations. This role will dominantly work with SAP IBP solution and related business processes. Business & IT teams will optimize processes and systems to drive business and technical improvements, system automation, continuous improvement, and other duties associated with GAF systems. In addition, the Solution Architect will work closely with IT project managers and business stakeholders to implement architecture design, and partner with GAF operations in creating business value through new product introductions and process improvements while maintaining alignment with GAF architectural frameworks.

Essential Duties

  • Providing Solution Architect level SAP Plan to Make technical leadership and application architecture planning and delivery on large complex projects

  • Establishing or modifying strategy, standards and procedures for SAP IBP integration, configuration, and implementation

  • Assisting in the development of SAP IBP technical roadmaps while keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies

  • Responsible for the overall systems architecture, technical and functional design for SAP IBP processes to design and deploy integrated end-to-end solutions.

  • Analyze requirements from a business and systems perspective by interpreting business goals and objectives and translating them into technical solutions.

  • Develop and improve the design of SAP architectural framework, including primary application and related applications and systems

  • Understand integration between SAP and other enterprise systems to articulate and offer sustainable and scalable architectural solutions

  • Understand business process improvement in enterprise applications.

  • Understand and transform business requirements into scalable/manageable solution architecture and design specifications.

  • Develop POC’s to evaluate new technologies and solutions.

  • Knowledge of troubleshooting scalability issues

  • Participate in the delivery of custom solutions that follow GAFs standard Agile process.

  • Ensure the development team adheres to GAF design and development patterns and standards.

  • Maintain and enhance integration solutions, including off-hours support of business-critical business solutions.

  • Ensure proper response and resolution to issues and errors.

  • Provide mentoring on advanced development concepts and technical capabilities to developers.

Under This Roof, We Require

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related majors.

  • 7+ years of IT experience; preferably in enterprise Business-to-Business durableable goods, construction, or building materials manufacturing.

  • 7+ years’ experience in IT design and delivery of complex systems

  • 3+ years experience in design, implementation and support of SAP IBP.

  • Experience with ERP implementation and transformation projects, from non-SAP to SAP IBP.

  • Experience in advanced planning systems and integration to business critical supply chain capability

  • Strong implementation and support experience of SAP IBP

  • Experience implementing SAP IBP with SAP SAC solution

  • Design and developing integrated business solutions that interact between multiple enterprise platforms and applications, both on-premises, CSP’s and SaaS providers.

  • General knowledge of Agile and SDLC software development practices and technical documentation (requirements, functional specifications, test plans, etc.)

  • Strong strategic business acumen and understanding of organizational strategy and ability to design IT systems to deliver that strategy

  • Strong ability to develop solution architecture designs

  • Strong ability to define multiple solution options to business problems

  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong ability to work on multiple projects concurrently

  • Strong ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
