GAF Operations Analyst - Remote in Parsippany, New Jersey

Job Description:

GAF is looking for a data-driven, intellectually curious, Operations Analyst with proven experience in complex problem-solving, process improvement, data compilation and reporting, capital plan management including budgeting, and cost reporting to join our Corporate Engineering team. The incumbent will report directly to the Director of Capital Planning, and will be responsible and accountable for developing and coordinating the company’s capital plan, delivering detailed analysis, reporting / solutions, insights, and recommendations to achieve business objectives. This role requires high attention to detail and demonstrable advanced technical skills in the area of data analytics and data visualization.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

● Creation, management, and forecasting of overall GAF Capital Plan including consolidating 3-year plans from individual plants into an annual corporate plan.

● Review of individual projects for adherence to the Capital Plan and Capital Policy.

● Management of the capital project submission process.

● Management, forecasting, and analysis of ArcPlan capital data. This includes monthly reconcile and communicating balances for all groups, as well as managing ongoing inquiries.

● Develop, generate, and distribute standard reporting. Utilize technical skills to improve and automate reporting as well as to identify and develop new metrics, reports/visualizations, and tools to drive action throughout Operations. Identify and communicate key trends and insights related to all reporting.

● Participate in cross-functional corporate and plant teams investigating opportunities to improve and expand GAF’s processes and products, and business opportunities

● Provide timely analytical support through ad-hoc analysis and reporting. Generate insights and recommendations, drive action, and assist in delivering results.

● Coordinate reviews of all large capital AFCEs with GAF CFO and COO. Provide requested data to the CFO and COO, and other leadership as needed.

● Manage specific AFCE funds as identified by management

● Conduct or assist with post project audits.

Technical Knowledge / Skills

● Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.

● Proficiency in Google Suite and AODocs as well as knowledge of programming languages such as Java are preferred.

● Advanced proficiency in leveraging large and complex data sets to support business decisions.

● Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

● Intermediate knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures

● The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and experience with multi-plant capital budgets and capital budgeting and administration processes, preferably across multiple business units.

● Experience using predictive analytics programs or languages (i.e. Alteryx, R, Python, or other statistical methods).

● Experience utilizing Data Visualization (such as Tableau) and Data Extraction / Transformation Tools (such as Alteryx).

Education / Experience

● Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Supply Chain, Industrial Distribution, Business, Accounting, or Engineering

● 3-5 years related experience in a Manufacturing, Operations, Logistics/Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business Analytics environment

● Knowledge of the Building Materials industry is helpful, though not required

● The preferred location for the position is the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, however the company will consider other locations provided they are within one hour of a large or major airport

● Travel up to roughly 30% of the time

● Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S., without current or future requirement for sponsorship of an employment-based visa status
