The right candidate will be invited to join the Savannah Plant team and continue a legacy of over 50 years of successful operations in this location. We operate two production lines that produce rolled roofing products for both commercial and residential applications.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager who will be responsible for maintaining excellence in developing, executing and controlling assigned projects to achieve plant goals. Through expert application of engineering techniques and principles, the incumbent will conduct analyses and investigations pertaining to construction of new facilities and enhancements for existing facilities to optimize productive capability of the plant. We encourage the Engineering Manager to make sound decisions considering such factors as cost, maintainability, facility of production and availability of materials and equipment with emphasis on safety and optimum performance. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly adaptive and capable of managing multiple engineering assignments.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support and participate in plant problem solving in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation as requested by Production/Maintenance.

  • Develop, manage, and execute the capital budget with production managers

  • Review new equipment designs and recommend modifications to minimize cost, conform to production capabilities and enhance safety.

  • Maintain thorough engineering standards for project design and execution, feasibility analysis, equipment standards, safety, construction, execution, and site implementation

  • Proactively evaluate value-added benefits of short-term and long-term continuous improvement opportunities through capital project execution. Coordinate development, submission, and approval of annual capital plan. Establish criteria for capital project scope and scheduling standards. Support new product development and manufacturing with equipment/material development, installation and start-up.

  • Provide technical engineering support for the Plant on a continual basis. Evaluate and design new equipment systems, and recommend modifications for continuous improvement in an effort to minimize cost, optimize maintenance and production capabilities, and enhance safety.

  • Manage the efforts of the Project Engineers to help achieve successful project completion and plant production goals. Ensure a high level of competence and performance within the department. Ensure the existence of consistent and comprehensive job standards, procedures and quality requirements for the engineering and maintenance groups.

  • Provide support for corporate level initiatives throughout the life cycle of the project activities.

  • Monitor, define applicability, and implement necessary codes, standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the facility. Ensure that complete plant drawings exist and are kept up-to-date. Ensure new equipment is fully documented.

  • At least 10 years of engineering and management experience in a manufacturing environment.
