GAF Maintenance Services Manager - Working Remote in Tampa, Florida

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Services Manager to join the Maintenance Services Team and provide support to multiple locations. This role will report directly to the Maintenance Services Director and be responsible for identifying and establishing maintenance system improvements and maintenance cost savings opportunities for GAF Manufacturing Operations.

Through the use of developed audit metrics the role will be responsible for identifying and sharing maintenance best practices, and providing needed support relating to equipment reliability, functional effectiveness in maintenance, and the use of Maximo and other data systems. This role will provide training and expertise for implementing identified system improvements across all GAF facilities in alignment with the vision of the plant of the future.

Identified improvement efforts should result in reduced operating costs as well as improve capacity and service to customers including: improved uptime and reduced slow time, reduced waste in raw materials and supplies, improved labor costs, and reduced maintenance spending on parts, supplies, and services.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct facilitated self-audits for all manufacturing sites to identify best practices and areas of greatest need for support in implementing system improvements.

  • Standardized utilization of Maximo databases across facilities; implement global storeroom concept.

  • Integration of system platforms to drive data-based reliability and cost decisions. Collaborate with operations and IT functions to maximize value from Maximo and other data systems.

  • Provide training and expertise to facilities for implementing system improvements and best practices through resource sharing and training.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Maintenance transformation and implementation of World Class Maintenance capabilities through the development standards in support of continuous improvement at all manufacturing sites.

  • Ongoing CMMS and asset management software platform development.

  • Ownership of asset and risk management activities aimed at compliance with codes and internal standards.

  • Development of major asset life cycle management standards for current and future capital equipment installations.

  • Identifying and sharing best practices among both internal and external maintenance organizations.

  • Supporting the Factory of the Future strategy (IIoT) in areas related to asset management, equipment health, and performance measurement systems.

  • Supporting the training and development of effective plant maintenance organizations.

  • The Maintenance Services Manager will work closely on initiatives with a number of other corporate support groups including IT, Engineering, Operations Technology, Process Services, and Purchasing.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Demonstrated experience developing, prioritizing and executing strategic plans to deliver results and achieve operating objectives.

  • Advanced knowledge of rotating equipment, machine design, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, bearings, lubrication, drives and plcs.

  • Practical knowledge of predictive technologies (Vibration Analysis, Thermal Imaging, Oil Analysis, Non-Destructive Testing, Laser Alignment).

  • Strong problem-solving and failure analysis experience and skills (KT, FMEA, FTA) with demonstrated application of each for improving maintenance and reliability.

  • Advanced proficiency in maintaining electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

  • Advanced knowledge of Maximo and other system platforms.

  • Advanced knowledge of stores management and purchasing, planning and scheduling, and repair work execution.

  • Advanced knowledge of industry safety standards.

  • Intermediate proficiency in electrical distribution systems and instrumentation.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office & Maximo proficiency.

GENERAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Must come from a continuous process industry utilizing CMMS (High level of Maximo knowledge and experience is highly preferred), predictive, and preventive maintenance programs

  • A record of effective performance as a team leader

  • A proactive approach to problem identification and solving

  • A good communicator of all things technical to all disciplines

  • Ability to influence internal employees to drive results

  • Analyze maintenance problems and devise solutions.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (preferred degrees are Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering). In lieu of engineering degree, a bachelor degree in a related field of 8-10 years of experience in a maintenance or reliability.

  • 15+ years total manufacturing experience

  • 10+ years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor / Manager, Production Supervisor / Maintenance, Maintenance Engineer, or Plant Engineer

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Willingness and ability to travel 40-60% of the time. The remaining time will be working remotely.
